A few weeks in the life of Tim, Ginger, Gabrielle and Hanakah . . .

titleA few weeks in the life of Tim, Ginger, Gabrielle and Hanakah…
Thank you for your prayer and backing as we prepare to leave Bethany College and live in Thailand for 9months…
Just a month ago we were in Indianapolis getting an excellent mission orientation and gaining some cool friends who also are on the path of mission with their families. Gabrielle and Hanakah met Gabriela and Isabela, who are heading to Spain very soon. They were *best friends from the start.

Our fellowship was sweet and we look forward to watching God work His plan in these five families. God is awesome! Each of us were encouraged by the material and time in Jesus presence. It was a real privilege to have the time and receive. (read about Hanakah’s pet cicada)
Following the weeks in IN we returned to Bethany College and jumped right into a powerful and busy week. We gave ourselves to the task at hand and a whole week of service downtown with 14 students was very productive. This group of teens came from outside the city and spent the time learning to approach complete strangers and strike up conversation, invite people to a community event and even share their testimony about living life with Jesus.

It was sooo cool. People showed up in the hundreds (500+ for sure), for a picnic in the park. More exciting than the ‘many’ were the individual decisions and people who saw Jesus in a new light throughout the week. A whole community was blessed as they were served by eleven different ministries teaming together to pull the event off!
After this week finished off it took us the following week to recoup and we focused intently on finishing up here and completing preparation for internship. We began to launch into ‘exit’ mode even more as we entered the last 30 days on campus. The stress level in our class has heightened and it is visible on the faces of each one. We have a great class and a couple of focused times of fun, food and praying have been a real treat.
So, what’s next?

In 11 days we lift off after saying good-bye to many wonderful friends standing with us in Minnesota. We drive for several days and arrive in WA just in time for the last two days of VBS at Northern Peaks Christian Fellowship. After 28 days in WA with family and friends we lift off from SeaTac and land 12.5 hours later in Taipei Taiwan. A three hour flight from there lands us in Bangkok, and then… the rest of the story begins with Kevin and Natelle Austin and our Thai brothers and sisters. Wow, it is happening! Thanks for praying and blessing us with your friendship!

Well, its quite the beautiful life you four are living!!! So exciting and yet somewhat with a little unease that you will be well and safe, especially the girls so far from home. I feel like your mother must feel Ginger, the parting of ones child and her family to so far away. I know that God will always be watching over you no matter where you are in this world and the work you are both doing and the girls too is totally selfless and so rich in love and living life that I can’t fathom it all. I feel that you are both very strong and brave couple to take your babies away from what you know and into another world. I am some relieved that you are meeting people that you have been in contact with over in Thailand. What an adventure the trip will be for you all. So long on the flight I pray that God will give you all strength to endure. Hopefully the girls and yourselves will be able to sleep on the long flight over there.

Am looking forward to seeing you all when you come home for an interlude before leaving the states for you new digs!! :-)
Love and prayers to you all and I will see you when you come home. I know that your mom is torn in seeing you off as will be harder to let go for her. I told her that God will provide a way over to Thailand to visit you there for a spell. I think she is thinking the same thing and is excited to make the trip. Make time to come out to the beach and visit with the girls. Its beautiful out there and like you stated Tim, nature is brimming from God’s hands for us to marvel, squeal with delight and in awe and treasure the sounds, smells, and sight of all He has to offer us, just to put a smile on our faces and thank Him for it all!!! Its good to be alive!

Love and kisses to the girls!!
    Aunt Cynthia
