A trip to Washington, and more…

Washington Update
Update: Washington State

Location: Sedro-Woolley WA (Mom’s house right now to be exact.)

What doing: Ginger is sleeping, Hanakah is also out, Gabrielle is keeping Grandma busy, picking her tomatos and exploring the house. Currently, I Tim sit here and type away during one of those rare moments when my thoughts are compiled enough to make some sense. :-)

How was the drive: The drive to Washington was very enjoyable! VERY. We stayed at one State park and then the next. Montana was beautiful.

on the road
We thoroughly enjoyed the camping, the sites, hiked in Makoshika in the badlands, hiked 2miles into the mountain at the Lewis & Clark Caverns, enjoyed the lake in Curlew and were quite excited to get to Washington on Thursday the 12th - in Sedro at 4pm

And then: then we settled into our friends, the Vances - what a beautiful time! We needed some good rest and we found ti there. A good ol’ washington cold smacked us around for a bit - both Ginger and I got it - the girls were fortunate. We got to say hi to all the VBS kids and team at Northern Peaks Christian Fellowship Friday - helping sponsor us, had a garage sale and car wash put on by Allison and Dana and others from Sehome Christian Community. We were completely doused with torrential rains toward the end of the carwash :-) We needed a shower anyway.
Sunday we were at Sehome fellowship, Pastor Steve invited Tim to preach. Yesterday we moved in with the Weatherby family and are staying in their guest room. Another beautiful place, goats, dogs, cats, horses and fun! Gabrielle asked us this morning if we, Ginger and I, could go on a date and leave her there to play with Madeline and Rebecca. :-)

And now: currently we are praying for Gabrielle’s passport - needed a correction - to arrive shortly, so we can apply for our visas. You may pray for that to show up soon! We are praying that we will be granted the 10month multiple entry non-immigrant visa. This would enable us to stay in Thailand for 90days and then to renew twice while on internship. The other option is the tourist visa, which would require us to leave the country and renew every thirty days… Ouch!
God is in control - he continues to answer prayer while keeping us on our toes - looking forward to His provision around each turn. And, it is funny how some of these details seem to take all the way to the very last minute… We enjoy the ride!

Next: This weekend we will be staying at Ginger’s grandmothers house, on Whidbey Island. Others including her mom and dad flying in from Washington DC will join the get-together. Should be a wonderful time. It is a real blessing to get to see Tom and Peggy (Ginger’s mom and dad), before we go. September 8, 4:30am is when were depart. Tickets just showed up in the mail a couple days ago!! PTL

We are enjoying the visit with friends and family. We are also finding this a challenging to time as we adjust, live out of suitcases, make decisions about what to bugy/gear up with for Thailand. A generally fun time - but it does make one sleepy by about 3pm!

Thank you for praying for us! We love you and pray for you too!
