Thailand - phase 3

We’re back, well almost. The bus is careening toward Rayong right now and it is going to feel good when the travel stops for today.
Hanakah is sleeping, Gabrielle is talking too loud, Ginger is holding Hanakah on her lap while trying to find the snack that Gabrielle requested and I’m

trying to keep my fingers on the right spot of this keyboard with no overhead lights, trying to keep the text flowing in the right direction - I can hardly read the screen due to the “smoothness” of this ride :-)

Praise the Lord! We have re-entered Thailand with a single entry 60 day visa. We made the visa application in Malaysia when our previous visa expired and we were so happy to get this visa without any complications.

This is going to be a very interesting phase of internship. (At no point has this internship not been interesting!) This week preaching and teaching continues in Rayong, English teaching, friends are happy to spend time with us whenever they/we can, and there will be many opportunities to give our heart to the people here.

While in Malaysia we immensely enjoyed the beaches, the time to think, pray, visit brothers and sisters, eat mouth watering foods and to just be together. Here are a few of Ginger’s words to covering a bit of our Malaysia experience:

“We enjoyed Malaysia. My favorite things were: Bookstores with books written in English, drinkable tap water, civilized traffic, and plumbing that can handle toilet paper! Oh, I also found a clothing outlet store that sells American brands at very good prices. It is funny the things you don’t realize you are missing. Next on the list would be the Indian food. I knew it would be good but it was even better than I thought. We actually had a lot of new foods. Soy milk and Ginger Beer ( like Ginger Ale with ten times the flavor) were our two favorite drinks and Nasi Lemak - coconut flavored rice with anchovies and chilies - was our favorite Malay meal. We tried Assam Laksa, noodles in a sour tamarind, prawn brain/ chili sauce. Tim liked it and I think it could get used to it. Though it might be hard to get past my initial impression that it smells and tastes like garbage can scum with scorching hot chilies.”

Sunday we were encouraged so much as we joined a worship service with over 40 nations represented! Where? Downtown Bnagkok. What a beautiful thing it is to be family with people all around this globe. You can pray for us during this season - that this family will be very intentional in being the hands and feet of Jesus to the many beautiful people we connect with during these next days.

We will keep you posted!

Tim and Ginger, Gabrielle and Hanakah too :-)
