RE: Blackberry, Security and Purple Fingers

There is a new building nearing completion down the street. Behind the parking lot the chain link fence guards the train tracks while supporting a good healthy patch of native Washington blackberry. The discovery was sweet and sour.

My fingers worked to pluck the high up sweet fruit for the little fingers not quite able to reach that high… 10 big fingers delivering the fruit to 30 little fingers and the mouths attached. There were more than a few smiles and a couples smirks if the fruit was more sour than sweet. This took place near the days end as the sun worked toward the last bit of finding its bed.

Just about wrapping up our festivity and packing toward home a sleepy security guard made his presence known. Apparently our adventure was not to his liking and I nearly reported him for unrestrained grumpiness in the presence of minors. No harm done and we all kept our smiles (he did not seem to have the ability to find his at the time) ;-) while chewing the remaining berries and walking in the direction his arms flailed us towards.

Me and my smiling crew found our way home and dreamed out loud of the next adventure containing the juicy black gold we had discovered. (I’ll plan on avoiding the domain where the grumpy guards are found - though I don’t think they’d be in such a condition if they learned where purple fingers come from).
