a lamp unto my feet…

This week is MissionFest 2005. This means that some 15-20 mission people representing different projects and works around the world are coming and going, presenting and teaching, challenging and encouraging the student/staff/community of Minneapolis.
It is a really good thing. Each year that I have participated (some three years now) has served to encourage, strengthen and re-align my own thinking about life purpose and the direction of my own family.
I thought I would write down a few of the things impressed on my heart today:

  • God has a feast of kindness – if I want it, truly go after it, He will give it to me
  • The lamp unto the feet typically only shines one footstep out at a time. Trust the light to take the next step
  • Final thought from tonight’s session: “Tim, do not be afraid to take a hold of what I have prepared you for!”
  • Making decisions, finding strength to do so, trusting God to help make sense of things, it is all part of the process. We have Father who delights in His children, we can trust His grace to be sufficient and His presence to be there in each decision we make.

    Amen!
